Law Book Series invites book proposals.

The Law Book Series of Transnational Press London provides an international publishing platform for outstanding legal scholarship, bringing innovative research from doctoral dissertations and independent academic projects to a wider scholarly audience.

Led by Prof. Dr. Özgür H. Çınar and Dr.iur. Ülkü Sezgi Sözen, the series welcomes original and academically rigorous contributions that advance legal knowledge, engage with contemporary legal challenges, and contribute to international debates on law, justice, governance, and society.

With a particular interest in research emerging from German and European universities, the series seeks to support doctoral researchers, early-career academics, and established scholars in transforming their research into scholarly books for an international readership.

Publish Your Doctoral Dissertation as a Scholarly Book

Completing a doctoral dissertation represents a significant academic achievement. Publishing it as a book offers an opportunity to develop its contribution, make its findings accessible to a broader academic community, and establish a lasting presence in legal scholarship.

The Law Book Series invites submissions of high-quality doctoral dissertations, revised doctoral theses, postdoctoral research, and original legal monographs. We are particularly interested in work that combines methodological rigour with fresh perspectives, critical analysis, and relevance beyond a single national legal system.

Whether your research examines German law, European Union law, international law, comparative law, or emerging questions at the intersection of law and society, we welcome proposals that demonstrate clear scholarly value and the potential to contribute to wider academic debate.

Areas of Interest

The series embraces a broad and evolving understanding of legal scholarship, including:

  • German and European Law: Constitutional law, administrative law, civil law, criminal law, and European Union law.

  • International and Comparative Law: Public and private international law, comparative legal systems, human rights, and transnational legal relations.

  • Business and Economic Law: Corporate law, commercial law, international trade, financial regulation, and dispute resolution.

  • Technology and Emerging Legal Challenges: Digital regulation, artificial intelligence and law, data protection, cybersecurity, and intellectual property.

  • Law, Governance and Society: Legal theory, access to justice, migration, equality, social rights, and the relationship between law and public policy.

Interdisciplinary research and studies addressing the interaction between national, European, and international legal frameworks are particularly welcome. This list is indicative rather than exhaustive.

From Dissertation to International Publication

We understand that publishing a doctoral thesis is an important step in an academic career. Our aim is to provide authors with a clear route from a completed research project to a professionally presented scholarly book.

Authors are invited to submit proposals based on completed dissertations or other substantial research projects. Each proposal will be considered for its academic quality, originality, relevance to the series, and suitability for publication.

Where appropriate, authors may receive guidance on adapting their dissertations for a book-length readership, including refining the structure, strengthening the central argument, and presenting the research to an international audience.

The series welcomes proposals from researchers at German universities and research institutions, as well as scholars working in other European and international academic environments.
